2nd Post Today!

Here is my second post for the day. Things I made on the weekend!

This top is one that I made by undoing a bought top that I loved. I traced off a pattern and voila! Even my partner said it was cute and he is against anything deeemd "Too girly!"

This dress seems less cute in this picture than in real life. maybe because I have hung it on a pant coathanger so the shoulders are wonky.
Just have to add some snaps to the back and wait for warmer weather.

Birthday Time!

It was my daughter's first birthday on August 7 and we had a lunch at Nana and Grandad's on the Sunday after it.

This is the birthday banner made by Nana (my Mum) to decorate the room. The name panel can be changed when needed.

Subtle hint wasn't it! :)

Here is a picture of the rug woven by my aunt in NSW for my daughter she was supposed to be in the picture with it but she crawled off before the camera took the shot! Speedy...I remember when she couldn't move at all.

Quilt in progress

Here is the quilt I have been madly working on. This is after the basting - sandwiching the top, wadding and back together. It is a bit bigger than 90 inches square - I am not sure of the metre measurement you can work it out if you need to.

Hi there

Here is a cowboy outfit I made for a fellow EBer. I have

put it up here because I haven't figured out how to post a picture on EB.

Whale Walker

Whale Walker

Here is the whale walker my Dad made for AJ. It is a Better Homes and Gardens design but he actually made it! (Only slight pressure required from me. :P)
She is only able to stand and hold onto the handle at this stage although the other day she pushed it and took 2 steps! My little girl is nearly walking! I am not ready!!

Wednesday write up #1

Hi there anyone reading this. I have decided to take a leaf from one of my fellow EB sewing ladies and try to put up a blog every Wednesday showing what I have been doing for the week. Here is the first post.

DRESS UP SWAP

Here is the costume I got in the EB Dress Up swap. So cute! It will fit AJ when she is old enough to want to dress up.

FINISHED CLOTHES
All the clothes below are size 1. Hopefully they will fit AJ soon. The benefits of being slow to start a blog is that you have plenty of almost finished things to put on when they are finished.
The blue top was made with material all from 'the store' - Mum's garage is full of boxes of fabric mostly stretch and rib but there is some cord and fleece. Whenever Mum and I buy material we put it in 'the store' so no one knows that we have bought it!

AJ
Alright here is my first picture of AJ. All clothes are handmade and the hat is knitted in Zoomy wool. Had to take this quick before she pulled it off.

PROGRESS REPORT
For those wondering have been working furiously on my quilt. Nearly have all vliesofixed bits attached and have attached 2 of the borders. Parts of the Dragon overlap onto the borders so I have to do them bit by bit. Am well on my way to meeting my deadline. Although my wrists hurt from the freee motion applique I have been doing.

Monday, July 9, 2007

Hi all,
No photos today just publicly stating that I WILL FINISH the dragon quilt I started in 2002 by August this year!
I will not work on or start any new projects.
Here's hoping...
Photo's to come - have some Dress up swap photos to show my EB friends after all.

Hi there.

For my first ever post I have some WIP (works in progress) and some things I finished a while ago that AJ has already worn. Am not really sure what else to write in this message. I have had some problems with formatting this page.. I hope it is not too annoying and I hope you like what I have made.

WIP

Below are some tops I am currently working on. The fairy was an iron on transfer and the lion and hippos I cut from some polar fleece that was left over from a nappy cover.

Overalls

Above are some overalls I made for AJ.

The first overalls are the first ones I used my snap press for so they do not snap the right way but she still looks cute in them. The applique is from a coloring book.

The denim overalls were made from an old pair of my jeans.

This is a Bolero I have knitted for AJ though it is size 1 so it is a bit bigger than she is at the moment but not far off. It is a Zoomy wool pattern knitted in Bendigo Wool 12 ply - used far less of this wool than required in the pattern so have plenty of wool available for something else.
